SCANDINAVIA in 2018
The Travel Group is invited to join the Senior Choir trip to
Scandinavia in May of 2018. We
will visit Bergen, Stockholm and Helsinki, with an optional stopover in Iceland
on the return trip.
We'll celebrate Syttende Mai, travel through the fiords by
bus, train and boat, explore Stockholm by bus and on foot, ferry to Helsinki,
and enjoy several performances by the SOTV Senior Choir.
Tentative dates are May 14 – 23, 2018. The cost will be approximately $4,500 with a
small deposit due in late April of this year to hold your place.
The tour will be
arranged by Seminars International, a
travel company SOTV has used frequently, resulting in very successful trips
around the world. We will receive more details from them on March 22, so please
stay tuned for more information.
NOTE: You
need NOT be a member of the choir to join the trip.

FALL ONE-DAY TRIP WITH DAVE BREDEMAS
Dave Bredemas will guide us on another historic and picturesque tour in
late September. The location and dates are yet to be determined, so please
watch for more information and registration coming soon.

CONSIDERING WINTERING IN ARIZONA OR FLORIDA?
Purposeful Retirement and the Travel Group are co-sponsoring an event to help you decide which of those locations may be better-suited to your dreams and needs. Come and hear a friendly “debate” over cactus vs. palm trees as members of SOTV describe and discuss their experiences with finding and selecting a location, what things to consider when buying or renting a property, and how to maintain the SOTV community while away from home. There will be ample time for questions too.
The date is Wednesday, May 16 from 10:00 am to noon. There is no cost for the program, Please register on the SOTV Website.

CRUISIN' DOWN THE RIVER . . .

Join us Thursday, July 13th on a 4
hour “Lunch and Lock” cruise on the Padelford riverboat down the Mississippi
River. Take in the beautiful sites along this historically narrated cruise,
which travels through the Ford Lock and Dam from St. Paul into Minneapolis and
returning to Harriet Island. Delight in live Dixieland music while feasting on
a delicious, buffet lunch.
Board at 10:30 am, depart at 11:00 am and
return at 3:00 pm.
Advanced, prepaid reservations are required. Our group rate cost per person is
$38.70. In order to guarantee your
"passage" and our group rate, call the cruise company directly at 651-227-1100 by June
15th and tell them you are with the group under the name Phyllis
Paetznick at SOTV.
If interested in
carpooling, meet at SOTV at 9:15 am. Parking is plentiful and free at the
site, which is located on Harriet
Island West.
